BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- A sunny day for runners in the Southern Tier on Sunday.

Nearly 2,000 people laced up for the second annual Greater Binghamton Bridge Run. Runners participated in a USATF certified half marathon and 5K road races. Both races began near the entrance of NYSEG Stadium and traveled through downtown Binghamton.

Over twenty-eight states were represented this year, along with six known runners from other countries. Participants said it was a great day to run through the city.

Scott Robinson, a Binghamton resident said, “A lot of fans a lot of runners, a good race, it's good for Binghamton."

Paul Holmes, a Pennsylvania resident said, “Beautiful nice run, weather was perfect, better than last year. It was a really good time."

Organizers expanded their fundraising efforts this year for their charity partner. They used the race website and Facebook page to help raise money for the MS Society.
