SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Jury deliberations resume today in the Saquan Evans trial. The Syracuse man is charged with second degree murder for the shooting death of a toddler back in 2010.
Jurors got the case just before noon Friday. They took a break to hear back two 911 calls from the scene of the shooting on Coolidge Avenue, and the testimony of the first police officer who responded, as well as one of the eyewitnesses.
Today, jurors are expected to re-hear the lengthy testimony of a key witness, Dasean Maddox. He was the man who drove Saquan Evans to the scene where the shooting took place.
The defense has argued that there was a third person was in the car, and it was that man who actually committed the shooting. Prosecutors say there's no evidence to back up that claim.
