TIOGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Six people were arrested after investigators busted an alleged meth lab. State Police searched a home on Shirley Road in the Town of Newark Valley on Tuesday afternoon.
Scott Cole, 23, and Jamie Swackhammer, 29, lived there. Cole attempted to escape into a wooded area behind the home, but both were eventually taken into custody.
Bryan Burkard, 31, Theresa Cochran, 48, Kara Smithgall, 23, and Melanie Short, 28, were also arrested.
All six have been charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and are being held at the Tioga County Jail without bail. More charges are pending in the case.
