ONEIDA COUNTY AND LEWIS COUNTY -- A Taberg man is injured following an early morning snowmobile accident. Oneida County Sheriff's Deputies say Thomas Potter, 41, was driving on trail C4 in the Town of Annsville around 2 a.m. when he struck a tree that fell across the trail.

Potter was transported by AmCare Ambulance to St Elizabeth's Hospital with injuries to his face, neck, and back. No word yet on his condition. The accident is still under investigation.

Another man was injured an hour later in a snowmobile accident in Lewis County. Sheriff's deputies say it happened in the Town of Osceola on trail C4, the same trail as the accident in Oneida County. They say Lawrence Corl, 53, of New Jersey went off the trail and hit several trees.

He was taken to Upstate University Hospital where he is in critical condition. This accident is also under investigation.
