LEWIS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Colder weather is beginning to slow down water flow across closed roads in Lewis County. With the high temperature and heavy rain on Wednesday, creeks and streams running into the Black River became swollen, sending water onto some roads.

On Friday, a large ice flow forced water over the Black River Bridge, forcing a road closure. River Road in the Town of Greig was also closed as the runoff from Fish Creek flowed across the roadway.

While some of these roads are impacted every year, officials say it's usually not this early in the season.

No homes or structures were immediately threatened
