BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- BAE Systems announced that it will lay off 300 employees. The company made the announcement Monday, saying that two-thirds of those being laid off will be from its plant in Southern New Hampshire.
However, part of the remaining 100 layoffs will come at five other locations, including the Endicott plant.
BAE says the layoffs are a necessary response to changing staffing requirements and the overall economic climate for its industry.
BAE employs 11,000 nationwide. Affected employees will be notified by March 4th.
