DELHI, N.Y. -- The owner of a Delhi animal hospice has been banned from doing business for the next ten years.

Susan Marino was charged with more than 20 counts of animal cruelty following an investigation by PETA in 2010. Although she denied the allegations, a judge banned her from having any animals for six months. Then the Attorney General’s office stepped in and filed a lawsuit against Marino, claiming she also accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations, but persistently failed to file financial reports.

As a result, Marino agreed to close Angel's Gate and not act in any leadership role at any charitable organization for the next ten years. She also cannot handle donations or take in any pets besides her own during that time.
