NORTH COUNTRY, N.Y. -- Just a day after deciding she could no longer support Mark's Law, Addie Russell has again re-thought her stance and says she has a bill ready to go that includes it.

Monday, Russell told us that Mark's Law, as written, wouldn't work and even though she was the original Assembly sponsor, she wanted to figure out a better way to impact tragic shootings. She said she wanted to focus on prevention, not penalty.

But after what we're told were long discussions Tuesday morning, the Assemblywoman says she's once again ready to add first responders to the state's murder one statute, joining police and court officials. She's calling it an enhanced Mark's Law.

The bill, which she plans to introduce soon, would also toughen penalties for people who provide the guns involved in these shootings and also limit the public information of pistol permit holders.

Russell says she plans to detail the bill at a press event Friday.
