STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. -- Steuben County authorities are investigating a possible human smuggling operation after the arrests of nearly a dozen suspected illegal immigrants.

Deputies say they discovered 11 undocumented individuals during a traffic stop on Interstate 86 in Avoca Tuesday night. Three of the individuals were turned over to US Border Patrol for suspected human trafficking.

The rest of the suspects have been detained pending deportation hearings.
