Woman attempts to rob two places

ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Baldwinsville woman struck out twice after State Police say she tried to rob both a hotel and a gas station early Sunday morning.

Troopers say Erin Descant, 31, tried to rob an employee at the Quality Inn on 7th North Street in Salina around 6 a.m. They say Descant threatened to use a weapon, but the employee didn't give her any money.

Minutes later, police responded to a second robbery call from the Sunoco on the same street. They say Descant told the manager she was going to rob the store and ran off when the alarm was activated.

Descant has been charged with one count each of first and third degree attempted robbery. She was arraigned and sent to the Onondaga County Jail on $50,000 bail.
