ILION, N.Y. -- A Syracuse man has been charged with grand larceny. Police in Ilion say Michael Swanka, 54, stole more than $12,000 while working at a local credit union.

Swanka was the manager of Remington Federal Credit Union in Ilion. Police say he wrote himself checks from the bank and used the money to pay off a personal credit card.

Swanka is charged with two counts of grand larceny and two counts of falsifying business records.
