ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Children's toys have filled the tabernacle as an Elmira church prepares for this weekend's toy distribution day. Shabach Tabernacle has been a site for Toys for Tots for three years.

The church has about 700 toys and is receiving about one thousand more from the Marine Corps on Friday. They will be giving out toys to about 360 families this year.

The pastor says they continue to serve because it's their calling.

"It's the ministry of giving and like I said, Christ, we actually celebrate Christ's birthday and he came and gave, you know. So, it's a great ministry of giving and it's Christmas time," said Pastor Bobby Smith, Shabach Tabernacle.

Families are picking up their toys from the Lake Street location Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If you are a registered family you are asked to bring a photo ID and the number from the registration form.
