AUBURN, N.Y. -- Those who were once homeless are getting a nice change of pace in Cayuga County. The Rescue Mission's Family Transition Program fed 25 families Wednesday. All were, at one time, living without a home.

The families received a catered dinner and gifts, donated from people in the area.

The event was held to celebrate the Family Transition Program's success in getting families off the streets.

"When you've been a family in crisis, you are trying to, every day is a struggle. Through Family Transitions, we're able to help stabilize that, eliminate that struggle and help them start to enjoy being a family together," said Rescue Mission CEO Alan Thornton.

Thornton adds that donations and volunteering is what makes events like this possible.
