SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Two SU football players were in Syracuse City Court Wednesday. The pair have been charged with disorderly conduct following an alleged incident with police earlier this month.

Police say linebacker Marquis Spruill and running back Steven Rene were part of a disorderly crowd on December 2nd. Rene allegedly yelled obscenities at them when they told him to get out of the road and Spruill is accused of grabbing an officer by the shirt and pushing him.

Officers say Spruill kicked the inside of the police car when taken into custody, causing the doors to swing open and hit an officer in the face.

The prosecution says it plans to talk to more witnesses before their next hearing on January 30th.

Other charges include second degree harassment for Spruill and resisting arrest for Rene.
