SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- We are expecting to learn more information from Syracuse Police some time later this morning about what happened on Croly Street Wednesday night. When we last spoke to police they could only tell us that a man suffered some sort of trauma which resulted in his death.

Police first got a report of a man down outside the Parkside Commons Apartments just after 6:30 p.m. They say a man believed to be in his late teens or early twenties was found behind the apartment complex where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The victim has not been identified but family members were believed to be at the scene.

At this point, information we have is limited, but police say they believe an argument occurred in the area prior to the point the man was found down.

"We found the victim here, someone found the victim here, we did not get a report of any shots fired, or any kind of disturbance or anything along those lines. So, what we are asking, if there is anyone out there that heard anything, saw anything, has any information at all, please pass that along to us right now," said Sgt. Tom Connellan, Syracuse Police Department.

The Syracuse Police Crime Scene Unit was on scene through the early morning hours. We are expecting to learn the victim's identity later today.

If you can help police with this investigation, they would like to hear from you. The number to call is (315) 442-5222. All calls are kept confidential.
