NEW YORK STATE -- Hospice chapters from 11 counties across New York are getting a big donation.
Mirabito Convenience Stores is donating the $30,000 it raised from its Hugs for Hospice campaign.
For National Hospice Awareness Month, the stores sold hospice "hugs" for a dollar from mid-November to the beginning of this month. All of the money raised will go directly to programs and services of local hospices.
Hospice organizations in Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Herkimer, Jefferson, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, Tioga and Tompkins counties will benefit.
