BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The defense has rested in the Joseph Ross-Jones murder trial without calling any witnesses.

Ross-Jones is one of two people charged with second degree murder for the death of Daniel Martinez in the Town of Chenango last October.

The prosecution called some forensic witnesses Monday before resting its case.

The defense then made a motion to have the case dismissed based on a lack of evidence. That motion was denied and the defense rested without calling any witnesses.

Closing arguments are slated for Tuesday morning.
