Community mourns young boy's death

BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- Sad news for the Maine-Endwell community. A child they rallied around this past summer has passed away.
School officials say Matthew Craig died Thursday. The six-year-old was born with a heart defect and cerebral palsy. He had multiple open heart surgeries.
Volunteers built a ramp at the family's home in Endwell last June to make it easier for Matthew to get in and out.
A fund has been set up for donations to help the family. It's at the M&T Bank on Hooper Road in Endwell. Checks can be made out to the Craig Family Benefit Fund.
