ELMIRA, N.Y. -- From turkey to green beans, an Elmira church will be serving a full, hot Thanksgiving dinner to the community.

Shabach Tabernacle is opening its kitchen at noon Thursday for anyone that is in need of a holiday meal. It's the fifth annual Thanksgiving dinner. About eight turkeys are ready to be baked or fried.

The event has grown bigger each year, which is why the church continues the tradition.

"It's our calling so we just do what we're called to do. It just gives us great pleasure to do it. It's a lot of work but there's a satisfaction in our hearts that's overwhelming so that's why," said Pastor Bobby Smith.

The doors are open from noon until four. Anyone from the Elmira area that can't make it can order a dinner for takeout, or have it delivered if you contact the church directly.
