SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- It's one of the busiest travel days of the year as people head home for the Thanksgiving holiday, or just take advantage of the four-day weekend to get out of town.

People lined up early to catch flights at Hancock Airport Wednesday morning. AAA says just over three million people are expected to fly this year, and 40 million will take to the highways.

While filling up on gas is no bargain, people we spoke with said the the skies are just as bad as the pump.

Dianna Weiner of Vestal said, "Airfare was crazy. We ended up having to get a tremendously early flight this year. Because if we flew out at a decent time, the airfare was going to be over $1,000 per person to get to Tampa."

This is the fourth year in a row that the number of people traveling has gone up.
