BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- A big boost to four local children's charities making a difference in the Southern Tier. Nearly $200,000 was handed out Wednesday with the help of Wendy's Walk for Kids.

This summer's walk had more than 700 participants.

Money went to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Make-A-Wish of Central New York, YMCA of Broome County and Catholic Charities of Broome County.
