WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- A teen center in Jefferson County was the first to receive a grant from Best Buy Children's Foundation Community.

The SoZo Teen Center will use the grant to help support its existing programs. It will also expand the culinary arts program, giving more opportunities for teens to learn communicational skills and help them better prepare to move on to job employment.

With over 40 kids visiting the center on a daily basis to use the computers, social interaction and gaming, the expansion will offer more activities for kids to do after school.

"Well, really, it's for resources to be able to expand this space and the equipment and stuff we have down here with our facilities and be able to offer these programs to more kids at one time," said Paul Passino, Teen Center Director.

One specific activity the culinary arts program hopes to add is the ability to show the kids cooking their own meals and sharing recipes online so other kids could try the same at home.
