VESTAL, N.Y. -- Binghamton University paid tribute to local veterans on Monday. A traditional flag lowering ceremony was held in front of the Couper Administration Building.

The closing ceremony was conducted by Binghamton's ROTC unit and the New York State Police. Binghamton University also hosted a panel of veterans on what it's like to be a combat veteran, and looked at veterans on campus as well.

"Honoring our veterans should be a continuous process, and Binghamton University hopes to do more ongoing things to do that. We plan on having more to do, a lot more community-based things, and have our students involved in the community," said Victor Yang, BU's Veterans Services VISTA Project Liaison.

Binghamton University has a Veterans Service Office, and you can find out more information by visiting www.binghamton.edu/veterans.
