BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- With the start of the college men's basketball season one month away, new Binghamton Bearcats head coach Tommy Dempsey was invited to the Binghamton Rotary to tell club members how he plans to bring success to the program.
Dempsey says the last four months of preparation have given him and his staff a chance to work on instilling good qualities and values into the program.
The newly installed coach is not guaranteeing a specific number of wins this season, but says he believes the community should be able to see the program as a successful one.
"I think it should be obvious to our fan base that things are going in a good direction. I think it's important that we compete hard every night. I think if you can establish the type of culture that the community can get behind, the campus can get behind, that your alums can get behind, I think the wins will follow," Dempsey said.
The Bearcats hit the hardwood for the first game of the year on November 9th in Maryland against Loyola, with their first home game two days later against Brown University.
