SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The weather was even a little too tropical for parrots at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo.

Zoo officials sprayed the parrots with water to keep them cool. The more water, the more vocal the birds became.

Those at the zoo say although the parrots like the warm weather, it becomes difficult for them when it gets really hot because they cannot sweat.

The zoo also has a pool to keep the elephants cool and they say they also use ice cubes as treats for the animals when it gets this hot.
