SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The city of Syracuse hosted a public meeting on Wednesday in regards to the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program. The program is a New York State funded grant that will be used to plan, design, and construct enhancements along Onondaga Creek.

The goal is to increase waterfront activity among the community along Onondaga Creek and Onondaga Lake. The alterations will include neighborhood access points within the city. The meeting gave the community an opportunity to learn more about the reconnection to the waterfront area.

"The public input we received tonight is valuable information, and will guide this city and our team as to where we ultimately move forward with an implementation project," said Owen Kerney, Deputy Director of Planning and Sustainability.

The Local Waterfront Revitalization Program builds on previous projects like the newly completed Onondaga Creekwalk.
