SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A man is in serious condition after he fell more than 30 feet while working at a construction site near the Destiny USA site in Syracuse.

Syracuse Police say Phillip Miller, 26, of East Syracuse, was working on the roof of the new pedestrian bridge between the mall and the parking lot at Carousel Center Drive and Hiawatha Boulevard. Miller slipped and fell 33 feet to the ground, landing on stone and small chunks of concrete.

Police say he was wearing a safety harness, but it wasn't attached to anything.

Miller has multiple internal injuries and broken bones and is being treated at Upstate University Hospital.

OSHA is conducting an investigation of the accident.
