STATEWIDE -- Low income New Yorkers with health problems are getting some help dealing with the heat. They can get free air conditioners from a state program.

Anyone who has a condition that poses a serious health risk, can get the air conditioner through the federally funded low income home energy assistance program. $3 million has been set aside as part of the program to distribute the air conditioners. There are several guidelines to qualify.
