ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- Officials are working to clean up the road after a tractor trailer carrying thousands of pounds of Hershey's chocolate rolled over in St. Lawrence County. State Police say the truck rolled over on Route 11 in the Town of Stockholm around 7:30 a.m.
The truck was carrying 41,000 pounds of semi-sweet chocolate chips, and police say it all needs to be unloaded by hand because of the weight.
Route 11 was closed for a few hours this morning, and the shoulder will remain closed for most of the day. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
"The driver reported that an oversized vehicle headed the opposite direction made him move to the shoulder. We're still trying to determine that, though, at this point,” said Chad Niles, Troop B Emergency Management Sergeant.
No one was injured in the accident.
