AUBURN, N.Y. -- A 14-year-old is charged with arson in connection with a fire at a storage building in Cayuga County.

The fire started around 8:30 Monday night at a North Street building owned by Auburn Metal Processing Corporation. Fire officials say the building contained material created from grinding up automobile parts.

Auburn police say the teenager was playing with fire inside the building and when the fire got out of control. The juvenile fled the scene.

He will be charged with fourth degree arson. Police are still investigating the fire and they're asking anyone with information about the incident to call 315-253-3231.
