Authorities arrest man in shooting incident
CAYUGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- One man was injured and another arrested after a shooting in Cayuga County. It happened on Lake Street in Fair Haven.
Sheriff's investigators said Edward Moriarty, 75, fired a shot toward one of two men riding ATVs in the area. The riders were stopped and in the middle of a verbal argument with another man who lived there. That man was upset about the noise caused by the ATVs.
Investigators said Moriarty got a gun and fired a shot, which hit a helmet next to Larry Thomas Junior, 28. The bullet went through the helmet, causing an injury to Thomas' leg.
Moriarty is charged with reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, and criminal mischief.
