Arrest made in theft of veteran memorial markers
STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. -- Corning Police have made an arrest in the theft of several bronze veteran’s memorial markers.
Seven markers were stolen from Houghey Funeral Home in the City of Corning. Police say Giacamo Tallarida took them and sold them to a recycling company as scrap. The recyclers assisted police in the investigation and returned the markers to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Tallarida has been charged with petit larceny and is due back in court next week.
