HERKIMER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Herkimer man is in the hospital after being gored by a bull.

Officials say Luis Martinez, 26, was herding cows into a barn at Davis Farms in the Town of Russia when a three-year-old bull attacked him and pierced him with his horn. Police say the owner of the farm found Martinez fifteen minutes later.

Martinez was taken by Medavac to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica and is listed in stable condition. He is being treated for abdominal trauma, fractured ribs and a possible collapsed lung.
