Click It or Ticket campaign begins
Research shows that fewer people buckle up at night, when the risk of being in a fatal crash is at the highest. That's according to State Police, who are ready to launch their latest Click It or Ticket campaign. Our Brad Vivacqua reports.

NEW YORK -- According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nearly one out of five Americans still fails to wear a seat belt when driving or riding in a motor vehicle.
With the summer driving season upon us, State Police want you to know that everyone must buckle up or prepare to be pulled over.
Today, the two week Buckle Up New York "Click It or Ticket" campaign will kick off across the state. You can expect to see more patrols, while events will be held by State Police reminding drivers of the consequences of not buckling up.
Statistics show in 2010, more than 22,000 people were killed in motor vehicle crashes nationwide, while 51 percent were not wearing seat belts. In addition, statistics show nighttime drivers are less likely to buckle up compared to daytime drivers.
"We realize that after six o'clock until six in the morning those fatalities with occupants, the passengers especially are found not to be wearing their seat belts. So, nighttime is a little bit more risky. So, we're going to focus on that but we're certainly going to continue with enforcing it during the day," said Jack Keller, NYS Police Troop D PIO.
Keller said of occupants killed in nighttime crashes in 2010, 61 percent were not wearing seat belts.
This year's Click It or Ticket campaign will run through June 3rd. You can expect to find both local and State Police conducting seat belt check-points.
