Man shot in hand during holdup
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse Police said a man was shot in the hand during an armed robbery in the city Sunday night. The victim, Shaun Richer, 25, told police he was walking to the market on the 100 block of Isabella Street when he was approached from behind by a man demanding money.
Richer said he turned and punched the man in the face, but then the suspect pulled out a revolver. As the two fought, the gun went off, hitting Richer in the right hand. He was able to run away and check into St. Joseph's Hospital.
