PLAINFIELD, N.Y. -- Two adults and three children are involved in a fatal crash in Otsego County.

Police said two cars collided at the intersection of US Route 20 and County Route 18 in Plainfield around 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

Nicole Dukerich, 22, was reportedly driving northbound on Route 18 when she ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle. Dukerich was pronounced dead at the scene while the passenger, her 3-year-old son, was seriously injured and taken to a hospital in Utica, and then transferred to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

The other car involved was driven by Heather Simmons, 36, of Canastota. Simmon's 12-year-old daughter and her daughter's 13-year-old friend were also in the car. Simmons and the 13-year-old are both in serious condition, while the 12-year-old remains in critical condition at Upstate.
