SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Due to construction on the Interstate 81 off ramp of I-690 eastbound, traffic has been backing up quickly for drivers.

To avoid delays, drivers are being advised to avoid the area and give themselves plenty of time when traveling in that direction.

Traffic is being re-routed from I-690 eastbound to the Midler Avenue exit, then from Midler to 690 west and then to I-81 south.

The construction is expected to continue until June 8th.
