UTICA, N.Y. -- Utica Police say the woman found dead Tuesday afternoon in a building on Mohawk Street died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The discovery was made around 4 p.m. inside a building that houses a barber shop, a social club and an apartment.

Police are not releasing the woman's name. They say an autopsy is being conducted to determine the manner of death.
