SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The five suspects in an armed standoff on Syracuse's south side were in court Tuesday. Sammy Davis Jr., Cedric Judge, Timothy Boyd, Nakiiso Tas, and Michael Sherriod were all arraigned on felony charges of burglary, robbery, and kidnapping.
Police said one of the men approached a woman outside her home on West Matson Street Sunday night, put a gun to her head and forced her inside the house. Three other men were inside, and another was in a getaway car. They demanded money and jewelry from the victim, and at one point stuck a gun in her mouth before putting her in a bathroom closet.
At that point the woman managed to escape. She ran out the front door right to police officers, who had just arrived.
Police spent nearly eight hours on the scene and finally deployed three rounds of tear gas to get the men out of the home.
The last person was taken into custody around 7 a.m. Monday.
