Cornell fraternity suspended for harassment

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Sigma Pi fraternity at Cornell University is on interim suspension following an incident at their frat house.

Cornell University Police say a group of black men and women reported that people on the roof of the house at 730 University Avenue threw bottles and cans at them while shouting racial insults. This allegedly happened just after 2 a.m. Sunday.

Members of the Sigma Pi fraternity say the person involved in the incident is not a Sigma Pi member.

University Police and Ithaca Police are investigating, but University Police say they have identified one person in connection with the incident.
