TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. -- The United States Air Force Band of Liberty performed in Ithaca, paying a special tribute to a fallen Marine. Corporal Christopher Bordoni was injured during a suicide bomber attack in Afghanistan back in January. He died of his injuries in April.

The Band of Liberty is based out of Massachusetts and travels the northeast playing concerts to honor both the country's musical heritage and military service, and to remind the public of those who have died in the line of duty.

“Their price, their ultimate sacrifice, is ensuring that liberty will never parish. And maybe not for my children, but for my children's children and future generations, they're standing up and defending that liberty here in the United States and for people all over the world. And it's very important that we never forget their sacrifice," said David Alpar, USAF Band of Liberty Commander & Conductor.

Corporal Christopher Bordoni was a 2008 graduate of Ithaca High School.
