JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- Authorities in Jefferson County are asking for your help tracking down a fugitive. State Police said they stopped a vehicle in the Plattsburgh area. The driver was wanted on two parole violations, but he got away.
The suspect, Brian Aikens, led police on a car chase into Jefferson County. Eventually, the chase was called off and authorities began to follow him with a helicopter. However, police said while driving through the Town of Wilna, Aikens got out of the car and ran.
Police are asking anyone who spots Aikens, or notices suspicious activity, to report it to 911. If you have information that's not an emergency situation, you're asked to call State Police at (315) 782-2112.
