SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Enjoying a cocktail and some good food while raising money for a good cause. "BAR" in Armory Square held a Kentucky Derby Fundraiser Saturday to benefit breast cancer patients. Many people wore exquisite hats while cheering on their favorite horse.

The proceeds from the fundraiser support Positively Pink Packages, a local non-profit organization that provides free care packages and resources to breast cancer patients.

It is the organization's largest fundraiser of the year and organizers believe that it's a great way to have fun and show support.

Jennifer Tom, Positively Pink Packages Executive Director said, “It's just a wonderful time.. Great way to come and support breast cancer patients and all the money obviously goes to the items for local breast cancer patients. So it’s really, really important to get out there. We can't change the fact that they were diagnosed but what we can do is provide them with vital resources and tools to help them get through it.”

This was the 8th year of the event and it continues to grow each year.
