VESTAL, N.Y.- Fourteen months after signing a two-year extension Mark Macon has been fired as BU men's basketball coach following the worst season in program history.
Macon will be paid the $300,000 owed to him under his contract which runs through spring of 2014. He leaves with a record of 23-70 in three seasons at the helm after taking over following the Kevin Broadus/Tiki Mayben fiasco in the late summer of 2009.
Binghamton is looking for its third coach in six seasons and hopes to have a new man hired by June.
