BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The Children's Home in Binghamton celebrated its 100th anniversary Wednesday with a cake and a gift-wrapped county transit bus.

The organization plans to use the bus to serve as a reminder of the work the organization does for the community. They provide services to children and families through 16 different programs.

Chip Houser, Children's Home President said, “I hope people remember that children always need advocates, and in these times of budget crunches, social programs get cut, children need advocates and everyone who is a taxpayer should be an advocate for a child, so that’s what I hope they remember when they see our bus."

The organization also has three other events planned this summer to celebrate the anniversary, a luncheon, a Memorial Golf Tournament and an Ice Cream Social.
