BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Tax Day brought a unique protest to downtown Binghamton. A group gathered outside Senator Tom Libous' office with signs in hand to call for equality when it comes to paying taxes.
The 99 percenters, as they like to be called, say big corporations "dodge" taxes and they played a symbolic game of dodge ball to prove their point.
Afterwards, they were going to hand over the ball to Senator Libous to show their objection to the way the tax system currently operates.
"It's all rigged against the 99 percent. We're saying we want to take our democracy back. We really want the 99 percent not to have to carry the entire tax burden of the one percent," protest organizer Mary Clark said.
The group also staged a protest outside of Verizon Headquarters later in the day.
