CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. -- If you’re looking for a job, you’re not alone. About 1,100 people stopped by the 2012 Regional Job Fair at Elmira College’s Murray Athletic Center Tuesday.
It’s the fifth annual job fair hosted by CSS Workforce New York.
This year, the fair hosted a record 112 employers, all with job openings. Health care, education and manufacturing fields were all represented.
"I'm cautiously optimistic that for our regional economy. We're starting to see the growth mode and I think the number of employers that we have here and the number of openings really speaks to that," said Daniel Porter, CSS Workforce New York Executive Director.
"It's a good way to get yourself out there. If you don't come, they don't know you're there looking. And it's a good way to find out who's hiring," Elmira resident Toni Morton said.
This is the largest annual job fair that CSS Workforce organizes.
