ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- One of the legal battles involving the Jordan-Elbridge School District appears to finally have been put to rest.
The New York State Court of Appeals has denied a request by former district treasurer Anthony Scro to have his case reviewed.
Scro was fired by the school board last year after he failed to file his oath of office on time. He initially sued to get his job back and won. But that ruling was overturned by the State Court of Appeals who said that Scro automatically vacated the office by not filing the oath on time.
The Court stuck by that decision in this latest ruling, denying Scro's motion to have the case re-heard. He has also been ordered to repay the district $100 for filing fees and appeal expenses.
