SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Crunch earned an emotional shootout victory over Connecticut in front of a sell-out crowd at the War Memorial, moving them into the seven spot in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. Tied at one after regulation and overtime, Patrick Maroon scored the game-winning goal in the shootout and Iiro Tarkki made the game-clinching save.
The Crunch now need a win in their final game to assure themselves of a spot in the playoffs. They play the regular season finale on Sunday at Albany. The puck drops at 4 PM.
