JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- The General Brown School District is working to pick up the pieces after a fire broke out in their bus garage Friday night.

Investigators said it was an electrical fire that started in one bus, destroying at least two buses and severely damaging the entire fleet.

Saturday, District officials worked to evaluate their losses and come up with a plan to get students to class on Monday. Some surrounding districts have already offered to loan buses to General Brown.

The school said they're exploring all options at this point.

Stephan Vigliotti Sr., General Brown School District Superintendent said, “This is a great area and we've received many calls from superintendents across the area volunteering busses for us and so on and so forth. But we're going to take a look at it, evaluate it and see what plan would be the best because it looks as if the busses will be down for at least a period of time."

Parents and students will be notified about the bussing adjustments via the schools website and call service as soon as a plan is in place.
